Coach Kara: Director of GU Shamrock Cheerleading
Kara has been a part of the Gymnastics Unlimited family since it opened in 1996. She started as a competitive gymnast for 6 years accomplishing 3 state championship titles before retiring her gymnastics career and moving onto competitive cheerleading. She cheered competitively 4 years between GU Shamrock Cheerleading and Cathedral High School Varsity. Kara was also a multi-sport athlete accomplishing several City and Regional Championships in track, softball, and cross country. Kara has been coaching since she graduated high school in 2005. She also has her Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Indianapolis and is a Certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Kara is also the Director of “GU Experience” for Gymnastics Unlimited.
Mandy has been a member of the Gymnastics Unlimited family since 2009. On staff, Mandy has been a recreational gymnastics coach and is in her 7th season as a Shamrock All-Star Cheerleading Coach. Mandy also has a specialized background in Special Needs Education.
Emily has been a member of the Gymnastics Unlimited family since 2001. On staff, Emily has been a recreational gymnastics coach for 10+ years, and has been a coach for the Shamrock All-Star Cheerleading program since 2010. She started taking tumbling classes during sixth grade after falling in love with the sport of cheerleading. Emily competed for Warren Central High School’s cheerleading squad as a freshman. During high school, Emily coached football and basketball cheerleading at Raymond Park Middle School for three years. Emily graduated from IUPUI in December 2016 earning her BSED in Secondary Education.
Coach Reggie: Tumbling Coach
Reggie comes to us with over 20 years of gymnastics coaching experience. Originally from Texas, Reggie has been a part of many well established gymnastics programs, and even owned his own gym for a short period of time before moving to Indiana. His knowledge and experience bring a new level of technical training for our athletes.
Briel is from Kokomo, Indiana. Briel group up surrounded in a gym atmosphere where her mom ran her own cheerleading program. She started taking tumbling and cheer classes at age 6 and continued all the way through her college career at Indiana State and IUPUI. She attended UCA camp every year for high school and also attended UCA’s lardest college camp in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Throughout her college years she was also a NCA staff instructor and spent her summers traveling all over the midwest coaching cheerleading and stunting camps for many all-star and school teams. Briel graduated college with a degree in Sports Management.
